New digs

My family's collection continues to grow of things found in the field behind the farmhouse.

Notable finds: stone marble, porcelain knob, sleigh bell, lavender glass stopper, silver dime, an animal tooth.

Picnic in Baie-D'Urfé

Today we took a picnic to Baie-D'Urfé and escaped the city heat. I used a vintage canister to carry the picnic things...and the lid doubled as a drink tray!

Homemade potato salad and eggplant parmesan patties with all the fixings.

And leftovers for tomorrow.

Cottage country

Several dirt roads later, we arrived in Portland, Ontario.

I carried this pie on my lap for the whole drive. Raspberry blueberry nectarine. Freshly ground nutmeg. Mom-made. I don't have to tell you it was worth it.

My bedroom for two sleeps. Beautiful, diffuse light came through these rice paper windows each morning.
